The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has been set up with the aim of recognising the skills and qualifications that people within the construction industry possess and assures clients and employers that the skills of all those working on construction sites have been assessed and validated against national standards including health & safety awareness training and testing.

Stanley J Murphy Ltd is a Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS) registered contractor.

The purpose of CHAS is to provide assessment criteria that health and safety professionals and public sector organisations can apply to the health and safety element of a pre-qualification process for contractor application for approved/select list or short-listing.

The scheme assesses adequacy and compliance of the health and safety policy statement, organisation for health and safety and specific arrangements to a single, common standard acceptable to CHAS members and users. Selecting contractors who have demonstrated these standards goes some way to ensuring compliance with health and safety law.

Stanley J Murphy Ltd is a member of the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme (FENSA)

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), with Government approval, in response to the new Building Regulations for England and Wales.

Since 1 April 2002, all replacement glazing in dwellings comes within the scope of the Building Regulations. From then on, anyone who installs replacement windows or doors will have to comply with improved thermal performance standards.

When having their windows and doors replaced from this date homeowners must ensure that they get a certificate form Local Authority Building Control or have the work completed by a FENSA Registered Company such as S J Murphy Ltd.
